PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group), a subsidiary of Barito Pacific, and Glencore have completed the acquisition of Shell Singapore Pte. Ltd.'s stake in Shell Energy and Chemicals Park (now Aster Chemicals & Energy), Singapore, through CAPGC Pte. Ltd., a joint venture between Chandra Asri and Glencore. The facility includes a 237,000 barrels per day refinery and a 1.1 million metric tons per year Ethylene Cracker. This move expands Chandra Asri's strategic footprint in the regional energy and chemical industry.
This acquisition strengthens Indonesia's energy security, ensures the availability of refinery and petrochemical products, and reduces dependence on imports. The collaboration with Glencore also opens up opportunities for sustainable growth, innovation, and economic efficiency in the ASEAN region, while creating new jobs in Indonesia.
